Most likely one of if not the most photographed location in all of Charleston. Located in the award winning 8 acre park Waterfront Park that stretches along the Cooper River. Also has a large lawn that is perfect some for sunbathing or picnics.
The fountain is located so that it takes the perfect picture at sunset and it is lighted in the evening making for a more dramatic shot.

Built before the civil war and restored during the 1920’s this instagramable and photogenic neighborhood in Charleston features numerous houses in the traditional Charleston Row House style and painted in bold Caribbean-inspired pastel colors.
These iconic homes face east so be sure to time your photo-shoot to take advantage of the sun and remember , these are actual homes, so please respect the homeowners.
#3 The Battery
Featuring some of the oldest homes in the United States this section of Charleston sits at the tip of Charleston’s peninsula and during the Civil War there was a battery site bordered by the rivers on either side of the peninsula. Famous for its antebellum mansions and historic points of interest you are certain to find a few great photos as you stroll along the promenade.
Don’t forget to stop and take a picture with the cannon.
Just a short trip from downtown Charleston to Angel Oak Park on John’s Island to marvel at one of the oldest living things in the United States. Some believe this southern live oak is 1,500 years old but most experts feel 400 – 500 is more accurate. Admission to Angel Oak Park is always free.
Originally referred to it as the Cooper River Bridge, the single cable Arthur J. Ravenel Bridge was constructed in 2005 and is hugely popular with runners, walkers and pedestrians because of pedestrian lanes accompanying the eight-lane span.
It is over a mile to the top of the bridge so be sure to wear comfortable shoes but the pictures will be worth it. Keep your eyes wide open for the bikers and runners as they don’t always like to stop to allow for photographers.
Insta Bonus – The Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park is located at the base of the bridge and it features a 1,250 foot long pier that stretches out under the bridge. You can take some memorable pictures from the views provided by walking all the way to the end of the pier.
Magnolia Plantation is oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in the United States. People have been coming since 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens. As it is also a popular wedding venue you might have to wait until bride and groom are done before you get your chance for the perfect picture.
Local watering hole popular with tourist and locals alike that not only features great food and drink but a huge mural of colorful wings that is a popular backdrop and a must have photo for your feed.

Once you are done taking your pictures on the Ravenel Bridge hop on over to Hotel Indigo in Mt. Pleasant. This boutique hotel features a lush green pool that feels like you are on an island vacation and makes for a few memorable snaps.
Can you really visit Charleston without indulging on some local seafood? Well, the Darling Oyster Bar serves up some of the best in Downtown Charleston and it serves it up in a way that makes every meal an insta classic.
Always popular location for pictures and Instagram posts has been dismantled and is closed until construction is complete. Construction on the new pier is scheduled to last 28 months with the new and improved pier opening in spring of 2023. You can still take many beautiful pictures on any of the Charleston area beaches.
